God said in Hebrews 11:12 concerning Abraham:
“Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.”
God’s people are compared to sand. We also run on sand. Sand was first used to make glass for weapons then windows, glasses, microscopes, telescopes, etc…lightning makes glass called fulgurite on sandy beaches.
Silica, the component that makes computers run, comes from sand. Sand and other dirts that produce silica are extremely common on Earth. Silicon is made in the lab to provide processors of electronic devices. People today have married their electronic devices to the loss of most of their life. They truly live lives built on sand. They spend most of the day looking at the screen of a smart phone. Or a laptop. Or a video-game. Even an electronic book. Sand is very interesting. Each grain is unique in its natural state. Much like people. So if people are like the sand on the seashore out of the loins of Abraham then we are dedicating our lives to pressed and processed sand in the form of electronic devices. We are sand dependent on sand. We must build our lives upon a rock to succeed in God’s Kingdom. End of Sermon.
